Loving began with a simple thought: what does warmth feel like when there are no words?
This painting isn’t about a specific story or scene — it’s about the feeling of being present and seen. The shapes and colours are soft, flowing, and warm — much like the way a comforting moment settles into memory. Nothing here is sharp or demanding; the compositions are gentle, as if they exist in that quiet space between emotion and breath.
When I painted Loving, I was thinking about how certain moments in life don’t need loud colours or dramatic gestures to be powerful. Sometimes it’s the quiet connections — a look, a pause, the gentle way light touches a surface — that stay with you longest. That kind of warmth doesn’t shout; it simply feels like home.
In an interior, this work adds a sense of comfort and calm presence. It pairs beautifully with light, serene spaces, soft fabrics, and natural materials — places where you want to slow down and breathe. Loving doesn’t compete with its surroundings, but gently enhances them — like a memory you return to without effort.
This is a piece about tenderness — not as a grand statement, but as a quiet truth that resonates over time.
