Liminal explores the quiet, suspended moment of being between one state and another, a space where what has been is gradually receding, while what comes next has not yet fully taken shape. The composition is built around an organic, almost architectural tension between solid and fluid forms, shadow and light. A single, delicate line moves through the composition like a trace of thought or a passage, creating a sense of movement without ever becoming directional. Liminal is therefore less about a specific place or narrative and more about an internal experience: the contemplative pause that exists before something shifts.

Texture plays an important role in the work. I incorporated textural paste into the surface to create subtle relief and dimensionality, allowing light to interact with the painting rather than simply illuminate it. As the light changes throughout the day, raised and recessed areas reveal different nuances of shadow and tone, giving the composition a sense of movement. The result is an artwork intended to be experienced slowly — revealing itself through atmosphere, touch and light.
