This painting began with a quiet fascination — the moment when a dragonfly lands and everything around seems to pause for a second.

I wasn’t interested in a literal image. Instead, I wanted to capture the feeling of lightness, fragility, and inner balance that this creature carries. The wings are only partially defined, almost dissolving into the background, while thin gold lines gently guide the eye without forcing it to follow a strict form.

I worked with layered greens and soft golden tones to create depth without heaviness. Crushed glass and gold leaf were added sparingly — not to impress, but to let the surface react to light in a subtle, almost accidental way. Depending on the time of day, the painting changes slightly, just like the dragonfly itself.

In an interior, this work feels calm and unobtrusive. It doesn’t dominate the space, but quietly anchors it. It works especially well in rooms where you want a sense of ease — a living area, bedroom, or a personal workspace — somewhere you return to yourself.

Dragonfly is about transitions that don’t need to be loud. About movement that happens gently, but changes everything.
